Axial's R&D team started with a clean slate and took an in depth look at the off-road desert scene before starting the EXO™ Terra Buggy project. The design concept was simple, if money were no object and we could build any full size rig we wanted, what would it be? Trophy trucks are awesome, Class-1 buggies are just as cool, but you only get to take along one friend. Then there is the sand and silt out in the desert, no one likes to get stuck, and 2WD Trophy Trucks and Class 1 rigs are always buried to the belly pan, so we need 4 wheel drive. Then there are 4 seat sand cars that accommodate you and 3 friends, but they don't usually work that well outside of the sand dunes. The decision was made to marry the best of all worlds into one vehicle that can tackle even the harshest terrain in style with 3 of your closest friends. Yes, we know the EXO does not exist in the full size world, and that is exactly what we intended - TO DREAM BIG, and make it an RC reality!

RPM A-Arm
RPM A-arms for the Axial EXO Terra Buggy are designed with unique features: it used 30 degree leading and trailing edges, which help the vehicle transition up and over tall objects instead of plowing into or through them. The oversized bosses for the hinge pin, shock mount and screws help support high breakage areas. Key oversized areas can be larger in diameter by at least 10% and wider by as much as 65%! RPM engineers tweaked the shock mount angle on our rear A-arms to eliminate the bind on the lower shock pivot ball at full suspension droop found with stock a-arms. A full set of front and rear A-arms from RPM weigh in less than stock arms as well, shedding unsprung weight in the process of adding some much needed muscle. A final, critical touch eliminates much of the slop from the suspension and steering systems. Hinge pin hole diameters are now .118” (or 3mm), cutting nearly .004” (.1mm) of slop from each hinge pin!
